Nerinx Hall invited Mini Markers to experience high school for a day. These young girls faced crowds in the halls, lengthier class periods, and attended a Nerinx pep rally. The Mini Markers and their hosts each received a Mini Marker shirt, a Nerinx tumbler, Nerinx tattoos, and green pom poms for the pep rally. With these essential items, the Mini Markers were ready to take on a day in the halls!

The Mini Markers had the opportunity to observe Nerinx faculty and students interact in the classrooms. They may have been surprised to see desks without nametags, different students in each of their classes, and no recess! Mini Marker Claire Saetelle was shocked when her host explained they would not have recess. However, she quickly recovered after she experienced her first high school free period. Inside the classroom, Mini Markers had the chance to interact with the students and teachers. Claire Saetelle spent U.S. Lit class drawing a picture for Ms Fry, and attempted to spark up a conversation with Mr. Kuensting’s bird, Max, during biology class. At the end of the day, she turned toward her host and said, “I can’t wait for high school and college. I wish I could go here now!”

It is easy to see that Nerinx’s Mini Marker Day was a great success.  This success was to due to Ms. McSorley, Ms. Sullivan, Nerinx ambassadors, faculty, and students. Nerinx Hall continues to display an exciting and caring atmosphere toward its guests and one another. These Mini Markers may soon join the Loretto community. Lucky for them, they already have a head start on the world of Contact, crowded hallways, and lifelong friendships with classmates.
