Dr. Michael Bartz, Mr. Duane Bridges, and alumna Grace Fitter (’09) perform at the Benefit Concert.

On Friday night, April 1, the Expressive Arts Center was rockin’ out, as seniors Abigail Carey, Bethany Clemens, Emily Colton, Sara Critchfield, Nora Derry, Madeline Mueller, Haley Shepherd, Maggie Sorenson, and Theresa Stevens hosted the 2016 Nerinx Benefit Concert. This year’s beneficiary was Red Cloud Native American School on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. The school serves Oglala Lakota Native American children “on the Rez,” touching over 800 families, many living in abject poverty, through its outreach. The fun-filled night featured seven local high school bands (including some of our own Markers), and one “old guys band” featuring Dr. Michael Bartz, Mr. Duane Bridges, and alumna Grace Fitter (’09). Over $1,200 was raised for Red Cloud, and with snacks, drinks, and a lot of singing and dancing, a splendid time was had by all!
